About Me
I am a retired Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, and I remain deeply grateful for the many years I spent caring for others. My career was both demanding and profoundly fulfilling, but like all meaningful chapters in life, it eventually came to a close. In this new season, I have embraced another lifelong passion—photography.
Wherever I travel, I find myself drawn to the character of cities, the quiet beauty of landscapes, and the small details that often go unnoticed. I have been fortunate to explore many places throughout Europe, the Far East and the United States. Each photograph I take is my way of preserving the spirit of those moments and the places visited. There is something special about transforming an image into a print that can be held, displayed, and shared. It is a joy to share these images with others.
Another part of this work has grown from a place that is deeply personal to me. I am a Greek Orthodox Christian, and over the years I have been captivated by the sacred beauty of Eastern Orthodox icons and sacred spaces. During my travels, I often photographed icons in churches and monasteries and occasionally brought one home for reflection and prayer. During the stillness of the COVID pandemic, I turned my camera toward the icons I had collected. I spent countless hours learning how to capture their depth, texture, and light, experimenting with printing techniques and papers until I could create images that conveyed even a small part of their presence and beauty. I put these images on cards to share with others.
What began as a simple gesture—making cards for family and friends—blossomed into something I never expected. Today, these cards feature not only icons, but also images of cities and places that have touched my heart. Friends have told me they have become keepsakes—small treasures in a fast-moving world where communication is often reduced to emails, texts, and social media posts rather than the thoughtfulness of a handwritten note.
For me, these cards are more than photographs on paper. They are invitations to slow down, pause for a moment, and write from the heart—whether to express love, gratitude, encouragement, sympathy, or simply to remind someone that they are remembered, cherished and that someone is thinking of them.
Each card is professionally printed through a fine arts lab. They are 5 × 7 inches, include a matching envelope, and feature a description of the image on the back.
